Christmas is coming to @chateaudebrives This photoshoot by @andreasvoneinsiedel is what featured in the wonderful Homes & Antiques magazine a few years back. It was so beautiful. Then through that article Channel 4’s ChateauDIY programme found us and we started filming for them and hence the weddings started!! It’s been a whirlwind of a few years with so much going on. Wouldn’t change it for the world, we absolutely love what we do ❤️❤️❤️Happy Sunday to you all xxx

Mélanie Crawford the most wonderful owner of the wedding agency Hitched in France very sadly died just over a week ago. She played a huge part in the setting up of our wedding business by giving us honest advice plus she worked jolly hard in getting us our first ever wedding, the glorious wedding of Charlotte & Charlie Carter that set us on the map. Then she cleverly got us our second wedding, during the first year of Covid , in a tiny opening we had in August for the fabulous wedding of Clare & David. Melanie worked ridiculously hard often sending emails at odd hours in the night. She had a really great sense of humor and an understanding of people. She has grown Hitched in France into a wonderful world for all couples wishing to marry in France full of information, advice and top suppliers. I think anyone who has worked with Melanie in the past will agree with me that she will be greatly missed. Her wonderful daughter Beki has taken over the reigns and will be following in her Mothers fabulous footsteps. Sending love to all of the family Sarah & George xxx❤️❤️❤️

Reflections! Time for a little of that @chateaudebrives Today George & I embark upon a 10day winter re-set. We’ve chosen to follow the wonderful @carolinedeisler and yes it’s Vegan! Poor George has absolutely no idea what’s ahead but we’ll see how long it takes him to work it out 🤣I think after such a heavy summer season we never actually let our bodies recover from that and still haven’t. We’re both ill at the moment so I reckon this is the right time for something new. The reason I’m telling you all is that I’ve more chance of sticking it out to the end rather than wimping out half way through. I’ve never been someone that understands vegan ( vegetarian no problem) but Caroline is the first person I’ve followed who makes it look incredibly inviting. As I chef i lové to discover new things so this program should be interesting and fun. I mean who couldn’t love a caramel sauce made from medjool dates! Right I’m off to make my first ever celery juice for breakfast 🤣🤣🤣the new me 🤣🤣🤣Oh and a HUGE THANKYOU to all of my new followers I’m honestly deeply touched . Welcome to our funny world xxxxx

Look who we bumped in to at the antiques fair in Bordeaux yesterday…. The lovely Carly and Steve who you will recognize were on the episode of @chateaudiy on Channel 4 where we came down to the fair on our Antiques hunting buying trip! But since the filming and now they have their gorgeous baby Finley who we hadn’t yet met.Carly has the most stunning IG page @maison_de_la_cascade . It was such a treat seeing them❤️❤️❤️❤️
